{Paper Smooches} November Sneak Peek, Announcement + Giveaway!

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. {There's a giveaway there, too!} My card features four stamps from Freezy Fellas which will be available on November 1st, in just two days time. Are you excited? These snowmen are absolutely adorable and when I saw this sentiment, it appeared as if the snowmen were showing me the love so I just went with it. LOL

The entire card is covered and paper pieced with patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two's Rosy paper pad. I cut out my own banner, stamped the sentiment and stapled it to the card base to complete the scene.

My card features a super cool border and sentiment from one of the upcoming releases, Cyber Café. There are several cups in this fabulous set but I used Kim's Coffee Cup Card Template and my Cameo to create the card base. This is the first card I've made using my Cameo so I am super excited to share this with you. I stamped the leaves and flower from Reflections on the back side of the patterned paper and then trimmed them to create the embellishments. I added some black burlap string and a pearl inside a silver sequin to finish the card.

{Paper Smooches} Holiday Cheer

Kim shared this card on the Paper Smooches Blog yesterday. I combined three stamp sets to create this scene. The main sentiment and faint 'fa la la la la' are from Christmas Sampler, the snowman and snowflakes are from Warm Hearts and the hat is from Chilly Chums. I used polka dotted paper for the background, cut three layers of rolling hills and assembled the layers. Then I stamped the snowflakes and light singing of 'fa la la la la' in the background, paper pieced the snowman and adhered him with foam tape. Isn't this the most adorable little snowman? My son says he looks like a marshmallow he wants to eat. LOL

{Avocado Arts} Thankful For You

Today, the Avocado Arts Pit Crew is sharing projects using the October release, Gobble Til You Wobble. For this card, I used the naked turkey, both feathers and the 'i am thankful for you' sentiment. All of the paper piecing was done using the Teresa Collins Vintage Finds paper pad.

I really wanted to use the cut files but I was having trouble getting my Cameo up and running. It was a bit frustrating for me and I have little patience for these sorts of things. Hopefully I will have it up and running soon. Lucky for me, I don't mind fussy cutting! ;)

If you'd like to purchase Gobble Til You Wobble, just click on the graphic above. Avocado Arts would love to see you using their stamps! Remember, there's a publication incentive, too. ;) Don't forget to check out the following posts for more inspiration:

Unity Friends With Flair {Oct 19th}

Hooray, it's time for Friends With Flair with Unity Stamp Company! I need a few masculine birthday cards so I thought I'd finally ink up some stamps from Ol' Bag of Fun and some other background stamps I've had for a while.

I love this huge brown paper bag and the hilarious sentiments that go along with it! I layered the bag to make it look as if helium balloons were coming out of it. When I inked up the Wood Grain Script and Chicken Wire Background, I immediately thought to myself, "Wow, why did it take me so long to use these?!"

Have a wonderful weekend! I am hoping to find some time to set up my Silhouette Cameo which was delivered yesterday and maybe even play with it a little. ;)

{Lil' Inker Designs} Runway Inspired Challenge #22

Lil' Inker Designs is sponsoring the Runway Inspired Challenge #22 so I thought I would play along! It's obvious that I drew my inspiration mostly from the colours in the photo. I liked the crisp, clean lines of the outfit and the grey stripes on the runway gave me the idea for the arrows. I thought my card was done but it seem boring. Then I noticed the gold buttons on the model's jacket so I threw on a few gold sequins with pearls in the centres and the card felt complete. I hope you will play along! You have until Friday, October 29th at 11:59 p.m. EST and you would win a $20 gift certificate to the Lil' Inker Store!

{Paper Smooches} Peace On Earth

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. My card features five images from All Yule Need and a sentiment from Christmas Sampler. I created a little banner held up with hearts and paper pieced the stockings with two patterns from Echo Park's original For The Record paper pad. The kraft panel was die cut with Lil' Inker Designs' stitched rectangles. Despite the paper piecing, this card was super quick and easy to make. It's a great design for mass-producing holiday cards!

I'm so happy that the sun is shining and it's warmer out. We have all recovered from our illnesses last week and feeling good. Thanks for all your well wishes!

{Avocado Arts} It's That Turkey Again!

Today, the entire Avocado Arts Pit Crew has loads of inspiration to share with you! We've all made cards featuring the October release, Gobble Til You Wobble, with sneak peeks of the upcoming November release, Very Merry Christmas. I used four papers from Basic Grey's Clippings paper pad to create the setting for the hearth and to paper piece the ridiculous turkey. He's lucky there's no fire going, otherwise he'd be roasted. LOL The turkey along with the wheat bundle and sentiment are from Gobble Til You Wobble. I fussy cut the wheat bundle wishing that I had my Cameo already. I love fussy cutting but a Cameo would've made it much easier and quicker! My sneak peeks from Very Merry Christmas are the fireplace and logs. I simply stamped the fireplace on kraft cardstock and embossed it in a woodgrain folder to give it texture. You are going to love the November release which is perfect for the holidays!

Please visit these amazing blogs for more inspiration and sneak peeks:

Be sure to leave a comment here and on all of the design team blogs for your chance to win one of these three awesome mini stamp sets!!! Winners will be announced on the Avocado Arts Blog as well as their Facebook Page so be sure to check back to see if you are a lucky winner!

{Paper Smooches} Let's Go Chill Out

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. It features the adorable little seal and a sentiment from Chilly Chums! I stamped him on a distressed grey patterned paper to make him look realistic and paired him up with some other pretty papers for a fun circle-shaped card. I recently acquired this waves die and had to use it. It will definitely come in handy for future water scenes. I drew the hill of ice the seal is resting on. ;)

Today's my Monday since yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving. My son's cold developed into bronchitis over the weekend and I got a sinus infection so we weren't able to celebrate. He's feeling better but I'm feeling worse. Boohoo. I hope you all have a great week!

{Avocado Arts} Give Thanks

Today, the Avocado Arts Pit Crew is sharing projects using the October release, Gobble Til You Wobble. For this card, I used the 'give thanks' sentiment, the circular 'happy turkey day' sentiment and the big maple leaf from this set and added the curly arrow from ZipnBy to Say Hi.

It's true, I don't normally put so many parts on a card but the fall colours were calling to me and I had to add a few things from my stash that I hadn't used yet including a burlap ATC and the awesome tab die cuts. After choosing all the elements, the card came together quickly. Some of the leaves were inked using the rock and roll technique to make it look like they are changing colours as they fall.

This has been the perfect fall so far and, for the most part, I haven't had to wear a sweater or jacket yet. It's the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend so we'll be celebrating as much as we can but both my son and my mom are sick so we'll be postponing the big feast 'til everyone's feeling better. Thank you for stopping by!

Unity Friends With Flair {Oct 5th}

Welcome to another Friends With Flair Friday! I'm just popping in on this beautiful fall evening to share a quick and easy card using Simply Love Deeply. Just stamp one of the subway art sentiments, trim it out, pop it on a background of patterned paper and tie some burlap string around it. It's a great card to send to anyone for any or no reason at all!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! It's the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend but both my son and my mom are battling colds so we might have to postpone the feast. My son was so mad that I didn't let him go to school today but I'm grateful that he loves school so much!

{Paper Smooches} Holiday Subway Art

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. It uses five sentiments from the newly-released Christmas Sampler set. They are displayed on a stitched mat die and popped up on foam tape. The background was lovingly stamped using the three stockings and a couple of accents from All Yule Need. Both of these sets are a ton of fun to play with! Are they making their way into your home? ;)
