Lil' Inker Designs September Release Blog Hop {Day 5}

Welcome to {Day 5} of the Lil' Inker Designs September Release Blog Hop! You should've come from Karen Baker's blog but, if not, be sure to start at Laura Pryor's blog for all the details. Today, the core team is showcasing the final die release, Stitched Sentiment Flag Die, and the colour team is featuring more of the new illustrated stamp sets from 2 Cute Ink and Sugar Kissed Cottage.

I created the base of my card using the Texture Plate Collection - Frame 1 and die cut three posts from the Sentiment Flags Additions Dies. Then I die cut several Stitched Sentiment Flags in three different colours. On three of the white flags, I used one of the floral background stamps from the Flip Flops Stamp Set. Then I arranged them on the posts and stapled them on just a bit crooked for visual interest and movement. I attached them on to the textured base with foam tape, stamped a sentiment which I customized from the new You're Invited Stamp Set and added rhinestones to finish the card.

Here are the blogs you'll want to visit today for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice from the new illustrated releases or one of two $10 store credits!

Lil' Inker Designs September Release Blog Hop {Day 4}

This is my first post of the day. I will have another post up at 9:00 a.m. EST, also showcasing the new Lil' Inker Designs release Stitched Mat Collection: Rectangles.

Welcome to {Day 4} of the Lil' Inker Designs September Release Blog Hop! You should've come from Judith Gowdy's blog but, if not, be sure to start at Laura Pryor's blog for all the details. I don't ever recall making a door card but when I saw the smallest rectangles from the Stitched Mat Collection: Rectangles, I knew they would make great panels for a door. I trimmed my card to coordinate with the stitched panels and turned it into a holiday card by creating a wreath with previously released holiday die and stamp sets, including Holly Jolly and Jingle Joy. The wreath was made with the small holly leaves and both berries from the Holly Jolly dies. The sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set. The wreath hanger is the letter 'l' from the Jingle Joy dies.

Don't you just LOVE these stitched mats?! I've been using them non-stop. They are definitely hard to put down and there are so many ways you can use them. Get yours now by clicking on the graphic below. Hopefully they haven't sold out yet! ;)

{Paper Smooches} Let's Bond

Kim shared this card on the Paper Smooches Blog yesterday. It features the mad scientist, lab rat, beakers and a sentiment from Great Chemistry which was one of the September releases. It was inevitable that I pair him up with the professor from Smarty Pants and the larger mouse from Santa Paws. You knew I'd do this, right? :D It was so much fun making this scene and even though I'm primarily a clean and simple card designer, I love to make a really busy card like this once in a while!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please join the Paper Smooches team for our monthly blog hop tomorrow when we'll be showing you sneak peeks of the incredible October release!

Lil' Inker Designs September Release Blog Hop {Day 2}

Welcome to {Day 2} of the Lil' Inker Designs September Release Blog Hop! You should've come from Mary Johnson's blog but, if not, be sure to start at Laura Pryor's blog for all the details. I hope you hopped along on {Day 1} because this is my favourite LID release yet. It is so amazing, I don't have enough words to describe it. Just wow! I'm positive these products are going to sell out quickly so you should definitely shop now if you're interested in any of them. ;) Today, I'm showcasing the Balloon Dies and You're Invited Stamp Set. My sister had a baby boy, her third child, last week so I'm sending this to her. When I started making it, I didn't have a baby boy card in mind but this just shows you how much subliminal messaging plays into my cardmaking as well as the versatility of these dies and stamps!

To create the background, I used the Stitched Mat Collection: Rectangles (more on that tomorrow and Thursday!!) and dry embossed a patterned on kraft and adhered it to the card base. It's a bit tricky getting the shapes and the cardstock to fit on the cutting platform but it's definitely doable. Then I die cut the fabulous balloons, layering the blue star die cuts on top of solid black balloon die cuts. I love how this looks! They can be used on their own or together making them so versatile. Next, I die cut a sentiment flag using the original die, stamped part of a sentiment from the new You're Invited Stamp Set, attached it to a wooden dowl and arranged the twine around it.

Don't miss any of today's stops. The LID Colour Team is joining us for this release making it even more exciting. Here are the blogs you'll want to visit for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice from the new illustrated releases or one of two $10 store credits!

{Avocado Arts} Hi

Today, the Avocado Arts Pit Crew is sharing projects using the September release, Grateful Season. For this card, I used several stamps from this set including the diamond border, filler square, two circles and a sentiment.  I combined these stamps with a bunch of other borders and a tiny heart from three other sets including Sweet Treat Sweetie, Sew Nice and Thoughts and Smiles!

I picked four colours to work with and started stamping the borders from the bottom up. When that was done, I randomly sprinkled the filler square inside the diamond borders. Then I stamped the circles, punched them out, stamped a sentiment on one and randomly adhered them over the borders. Something seemed missing so I added two little hearts from Sweet Treat Sweetie and added glossy accents to them.

Hooray for fall, my favourite season! Sweater weather is upon us and I'm loving it. If you'd like to purchase Grateful Season, just click on the graphic above. Avocado Arts would love to see you using their stamps! Remember, there's a publication incentive, too. ;) Don't forget to check out the following posts for more inspiration:

It's my birthday weekend and I'm turning a big __. I think I would rather not think about it. LOL! I hope to celebrate with loads of crafty time and some shopping. ;)

{Paper Smooches} We Wobble

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. It features the turkey and a sentiment from Jive Turkey. The ground that they're dancing on was created by flipping the helix border from Great Chemistry back and forth to give it some variation. As you may have guessed, I did some cosmetic surgery on the turkey (just like I did with the professor in this video) so I could manipulate its movements. I totally cracked myself up while making this card so I hope you enjoy it, too. Now whenever I look at it, I do a little wiggling and wobbling myself. I just can't help it! :D

It looks like yesterday was our very last day of summer. It was the perfect day! It's raining all day today so I guess I'll be cooped up inside crafting. I better get to it because I have a lot on my plate. I hope you're all having a wonderful week so far!

{Paper Smooches} Let's Party

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. It features all the balloons, straight string (which I curved) and a sentiment from the newly-released Hullabaloo set! Yup, all those balloons and strings are masked, making this an easy-to-mail one-layer card. The sweet little monkey is from Smoocheroos. The clouds, cityscape and road are from Metropolis and the waves are from Surf & Turf.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

{Avocado Arts} Grateful For You

Today, the Avocado Arts Pit Crew is sharing projects using the September release, Grateful Season. I used the large pumpkin and one of the sentiments from this set for a quick and easy card.

The grass is from last month's release, Perfectly Perfect Day. I can't seem to stop using that grass stamp! It's really awesome. I recently bought a pack of sequins and wanted to use them so I layered it between some burlap string and a pearl to dress up the pumpkin. :)

If you'd like to purchase Grateful Season, just click on the graphics. Avocado Arts would love to see you using their stamps! Remember, there's a publication incentive, too. ;) Don't forget to check out the following posts for more inspiration using Grateful Season.

{Paper Smooches} We Have Awesome Chemistry

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. It features one of this month's releases, Great Chemistry. I am always excited when Kim adds new characters to the Paper Smooches family. As you may have guessed, I'm going to love this mad scientist as much as I love the squirrel from Hang Ups and the professor from Smarty Pants. Oh, the things you could do with him. LOL! To dress up this mad scientist, I combined colouring with Copic markers and paper piecing with Echo Park's A Boy's Life paper pad. I was too lazy to get out the sewing machine so I used the dashed line from Santa Paws for the faux stitching. Thank you for dropping by today. It's always a treat to read your comments!
