{Studio Katia} May Release Guest Designer

I'm absolutely delighted to be guest designing with Studio Katia today! It's a pleasure to discover new companies and amazing talents, especially Canadian ones. ;) Studio Katia's latest release is an incredible one and I loved playing with the new stamps, dies and embellishments! My first card is a birthday card featuring Kobi the Birthday Bear stamps and coordinating dies. He's so adorable and I'm in love with those numbered candles!

I used a total of eight images from that set, along with their coordinating dies. I used fun foam to pop up the candles and balloon since it was the easiest way to layer small areas. I stamped all of the images with black pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then used distress inks to colour everything. I used the Clear Round Drops Mix on the balloons.

My second card features the You're So Ranunculus stamp set, Mini Thank You dies and Dotted Patterns Set 1 dies. I stamped the flowers with watermark ink and heat embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder. Then I watercoloured the image with distress inks.

After the panel dried, I dry embossed the largest frame using Dotted Patterns Set 1. You can see the details in the close-up photo below.

To create the sentiment, I watercoloured a die cut from Mini Thank You and layered it, first, with black cardstock and fun foam.

Aside from the tans and browns I used for the bear and cake, I used the same bright colours on both cards. The ranunculus card is busier and more saturated with colour and shine, while the birthday card is clear and simple in comparison. I love using the same colours on two very different cards to show versatility.

I hope you enjoyed today's projects. Thanks so much for stopping by!
